111 8th Avenue Wayfinding
Navigating One of NY Largest Buildings

A large and engaging wayfinding system was designed to help the tenants of 111 Eighth Avenue navigate the building’s complicated and previously dark circulation system and liven up its long corridors. A small exhibit displays artifacts from the building’s long history that were discovered during the removal of one of its original freight elevators. The empty elevator shaft was converted into a large circulation stairway with interpretive graphics that span the full height of the building.
